And I get your sentiment. Being a Yankees fan I would have loved to play the Sox last year in the playoffs, but certainly seeing them crumble beforehand was satisfying enough...

No harm taken. I hope I didn't come off as being offended or angry because I wasn't. I guess I was just trying to say there are certain teams I just can not root for. Some because they are rivals (Cowboys, Giants, Rangers, Mets) and some because of their players (Miami Heat, Cowboys, etc. etc. etc.). Rangers vs. Flyers would be a good series. One that I think the Rangers would most likely win because they match up well against the Flyers. By the way Lundqvist is incredible. He has stoned the Flyers each time they've played this season. He seems to have their number.

Haha no love for the Cowboys! I can relate,growing up in the late 70's/early 80's my brother was a HUGE Cowboys fan which set me up as a Steelers fan in a wonderful bit of sibling rivalry. It was probably the "America's team" crap and all that nonsense about their stadium having an open roof so God could watch his favorite team play every Sunday stuff that made me gag as well. Having egomaniacal,non hitters like Deion Sanders didn't help either. totally unlikable.

   What's worse then the cowboys themselves or their image is the fact that we have a ton of Cowboy fans done here in philly and they love to crow about their team. They love to talk about how many rings they have, the worlds best stadium, and all the other team attributes which make the Cowboys and by association, themselves superiour. It wouldn't bother me so much if they were transplants from Texas, but these are people who grew up in the area. How they can root against their own home town is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is penial insecurity. 

Thinking of the Cowboys and how hated they are in philly reminds me of a funny story. When Buddy Ryan took over the team in the mid eighties, the Eagles were on a down swing. Alot of the areas sports fans paid little attention to the team. Eventhough they sold out most of their games, the city really belonged to the phillies at that time. Well one thing Buddy noticed when he came in was how much the fans hated the Cowboys. He wasted no time stoking that hatred and using it to garner support for the team. That first year he made all the usual outlandish "Ryan" statements about crushing the Cowgirls etc. etc. etc., but the Eagles couldn't back any of it up on the field and were pretty much embarrised in each of their meetings. Well, the next year, the first meeting between the teams was during the strike. Buddy had encouraged all of his players to stick together and stay on strike so the Eagles fielded a team of replacement players who Buddy despised. On the other hand, alot of the Cowboys (Danny White, Tony Dorset, etc. etc.) crossed the picket line and played in the game. They ended up crushing the Eagles by 40 points or something. Buddy was fuming, but uncharacteristicly he said nothing except that it was just their first meeting. When they played later that season, the Eagles were demolishing them. There was no chance the Cowboys were ever going to come back when the eagles got the ball at their own 40 yard line with about 45sec  left in the game. The first play Cunningham takes the snap and kneels. The next play Cunningham takes the snaps goes down as if he is going to kneel , but instead throws a bomb down to the 1 yard line which end ups in a pass interference call. The next play with 10sec on the clock they pound it in for a touch down. I was dazed never expecting something like this to happen, still I couldn't help but crack up when they showed Buddy looking over to the Cowboy's side line with that evil, sly grin of his. Boy he would have made a great villain in the movies.

By the way, my wife is from Japan as well. Chofu prefecture in Tokyo.
