It was five years ago that I posted my review of ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN on the old Sinister Cinema board to kick off this series. Since then, except for a handful of vacation days, I have been able to post a new one every day since.
When I started the project, I thought I would have reached a stopping point long before now. I was sure that there were so many movies that were either lost or near impossible to find, that my hunt list would have reached the upper limit I set for it of a thousand movies, and I would have had to slow down my project. Such has not proven the case, though; my hunt list is still quite a ways from one thousand, and most of the movies on my list have proven to be available somewhere.
There is still so much to see. Though I've covered a good many foreign movies, there are many countries where I haven't covered a single one. There are some genres I've nearly exhausted; I've covered almost all of the well-known genre movies from the thirties and forties, and a majority of the fifties. I've also gave a strong sampling of the silent era (though this era has far and away the longest list of unfound movies). I've made a good start on movies from the sixties as well. But there is plenty more to see, even from the earlier decades, and of course there is much more to cover from the seventies onward.
I want to thank everyone who has offered help, feedback, and support during these five years. Let's hope that, five years from now, I'll still be going strong with this.
Thank you all!
