Dec 14 09 9:20 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I was going to save it for my new website, but in the next couple of days I will have a clip of the very first animated Universal logo as seen on film. Here is the thing Golitzen was talking about (an interociter): If that is really it, it's far smaller than I thought it would be. I'm starting to think those letters were matted in. Also, does anyone know what the protocol was back then for making logos for camera negatives? Did the studio make millions of dupe negatives off of the original and cut those into prints? What happened to the leftovers? What happened to the camera originals on this stuff? J. Theakston Capitol Theatre, Rome, NY

Dec 14 09 10:11 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I alerted Scott to the thread, to make sure I got the story right, and he e-mailed me back: << Alex wasn't specific (he was in his 90s and slow to talk, so I didn't pester him), but the center ball clearly was the body of the rotating motorized globe, and I would think at least one of the bands would have been the band that held the UNIVERSAL signage. Of course, the plexiglass thing also had all of those rotating stars, which must have been all set up with gears and torque motors. << This is all kinda Greek to me. How DO you guys come up with all these arcane subjects?
