In the latest issue of VIDEO WATCHDOG (as of this writing, #116), Tim Lucas refers to having received a collection of old (and obscure) video tapes from the family of a recently deceased friend and opines that "when I'm gone, my family won't know what this stuff is, or what to do with it..." Tim's allusion to his own mortality struck a chord in me and begs the question... when I die, who gets my stuff?
Most of us are collectors of one thing or another, even if that collection is-- as is my own-- just a hodgepodge representation of what's out there. And at the risk of broaching the unpalatable, I wonder if anyone else has thoughts on the subject of where your stuff goes when you're gone.
I don't have my own answer yet but I have considered, if I were to get an unfavorable diagnosis tomorrow (ten years' work in a hospital has cursed me with thoughts like this), boxing up my stuff and divvying it up amongst my friends. I'd certainly hate for any of it to be thrown out and yet I know of no one close to me (in geography) who would have any sense of the value of these things to me.
And yourself?

I wish I could do something about this. But I can't. But I can promise you two things. One: I'll always look this good. Two: I'll never give up on you... ever. HELLBOY
