For me, it's easy. It's been 48 years now, and it's still ringing in my ears: In HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, when Nora Manning turned around to see the old woman leering at her, her hands like claws.
Even finding out a minute later that she was the caretaker, and there was no earthly reason for her to have held her hands like that, didn't matter. We got our scare, so we were happy.
Yes, we were easily entertained in those days. I think we were better off for that.
