I have heard for years that TIMEGATE was shelved when Star Wars came out in May 1977 but that seems strange since everybody was aware that Star Wars was being made as early as 1974 and it was certainly no surprise. Lots of special effects films and tv shows of all kinds were made in an effort to cash in on the success of Star Wars so it's difficult to see how TIMEGATE would not have benefitted from the tremendous increase in interest in science fiction films at that time.

Here is another page with PRIMEVALS info that I don't recall seeing.http://www.davidmosherfx.com/ThePrimevals.html

This was Jim Danforth's clay prototype design of the giant in the film. Shame we couldn't have seen this guy in action.

Speaking of unused Jim Danforth designs (and hopefully I just didn't overlook it in JD's book): I recall Danforth mentioning in at least one interview that he came up with his own design for the Loch Ness Monster for THE 7 FACES OF DR. LAO, but George Pal never got to see it until after the film had wrapped. The producer was really enthusiastic about Danforth's Nessie, but I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the unused idea. Are there any photos out there?
