Larry Arpin made a somewhat Gwangi-like model, but it had some serious cosmetic problems that were fixed by Bruce Heller and me. I did the face and the paint job.

I like your dinosaur puppet and it's really too bad it didn't get used for the feature. When I was first starting out I was also offered a chance to do stop-motion for a feature just for the experience and credit, no pay. Had to turn it down too. At least on Planet o'Dinos we were paid just enough to cover our mileage and get some lunch. Jim Aupperle

That dinosaur has a delightfully evil personality to it. How big was it and did anyone ever get to animate it, even if just for some tests? Jim Aupperle

Babetician wrote:[The dinosaur model] was about 12 inches tall. I'll have to ask Bruce what happened to the model. Before the makeover, the model was a bright sky blue, with no personality. I always try to make my faces wicked looking. Bruce re-designed the teeth, and wanted me to sculpt ridges along the face that lined up with the teeth.
Bowie can claim to be the only man to have parted the Red Sea for only £80, and in Technicolour! It was not that impressive apparently but as Bowie says: "What do you expect for £80?"
