Jul 10 03 1:24 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Terrific interview...loved that line about Lee showing his "lupine grin". Interesting to compare his role in "Star Bores" to Saruman in LOTR. In the first, he plays a sort of chaming Bondian villian....loved his scene where he flies on a broomstick ala Margaret Hamilton. In LOTR he is the embodyment of evil, without a trace of charm or any redeeming qualities whatsoever. One of my personal favorite roles of Lee's is in "Horror Hotel" (aka City of the Dead) wherein he plays a college professor with a secret....heh heh heh.

Nov 17 03 6:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	As you may have heard by now, Peter Jackson felt impelled to trim Christopher Lee's remaining scenes from LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KINGS, though he promises to restore the footage for the expanded version when it comes out late next year.

Nov 18 03 7:07 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well, Lee is a big fan of the book and for years had wanted to play the part of Gandalf (and I'm sure he would have been a good one, though these days I do think Ian McKellan is the better choice). For what it's worth, I picked up the expanded version of TWO TOWERS today, and there is bit more footage there of Lee as Saruman.

I heard it was due to a contract made with Liv Tyler stating that she had to have a certain amount of screen time in each film, so they had to expand the love scenes between Arwen and Aragorn. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this rumor? Either way, I really can hardly stand Liv Tyler. Blech.
