Nov 3 04 12:41 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've got an MP3 disc with about 30 or so episodes, spanning 1932-38. It was a great old show, the best part being the intro when Old Nancy, the Witch of Salem, and her wise black cat, Satan introduce their tale of terror .... woooooooo ...... spooooooky...... The cat is played by the show's producer, writer and director, Alonzo Deen Cole. Nancy was at first played by a reallllllly old woman, Adelaide Fitz-something or another. Then when she died in the middle of production in around 1935, she was replaced by 13-year-old Miriam Wolff. This girl does an old witch perfectly! I've seen pictures of her in her 20s and, va-voom! She turned out to be a great radio actress. She died just a year or two ago. Anyway, you can easily find the disc on eBay for probably less than 10 bucks. My favorites of the stories are "Bronze Venus" and "Boa Goddess," but they're all pretty amusing in their own right. Well worth the investment, if you have an MP3 player. Along these lines, another great old-time radio show you might want to check out is "The Hermit's Cave," where a creepy old man cackles out the description amid a howling wind at the beginning and checks back in with you at the end. Except in one episode he was apparently not in the room when the moderator said, "And now, the Hermit!" He had to call him in twice. Priceless stuff!
