NCH features nearly every genre of music from the 20's to present, offering monsterishly ghoulish tunes from Alice (Cooper) to (Frank) Zappa, (even such unlikelys as Buck Owens and Lawrence Welk!) played against a dense soundscape of 'eerie ambience'. I have been collecting Halloween audio for over 30 years, since I was in high school, and believe I started around 1974. I of course built on the collection over the years, especially during Halloween season when new releases become available and when used record stores bring out the Halloween items that often get moved to stockrooms in the off season. I had a collecting boom in the late '90s and early '00s when I discovered eBay. I was making good money at the time and ordered everything I could. I found stuff I had search for for years and discovered much I had never heard of. These days with the use of the Internet collecting has become a year round venture. Another benefit since the NCH website came into existence in 1999, is many fans of the show contact me with suggestions and to my utter glee send me wonderful items to add to the collection! I also receive a lot of unsolicited music from bands and artists which I always welcome, as I really love supporting independent bands and artists. I have been especially pleased that the radio program has been expanded to a worldwide audience since Webcasting it live on the Internet began in 2000. To conclude, I want to say that as much music as I have managed to collect over the years, I am amazed at how much I continue to discover, both new and old!
