Gary - Thanks for adding the folder. Great to have an area just for vintage stills, posters and the like.
Below is a photo I'm curious about. Has anyone every come across or owned a vintage copy? The one below, although it's hard to see in the scan, was inscribed to Jack Pierce. It popped up about a year or so ago at an East coast auction. Profiles in History bought it, sold it, then it showed up on eBay and sold for approx. 12K - The only time prior I was aware of this shot was in the Intimate Interview short circa 1932 with Lugosi and Dorothy West. Lugosi pulls an 11x14 out of an envelope and shows it to her. I had asked Ron Borst (this was prior to the signed one coming up for auction) and he said he had never seen an actual one... the Intimate Interview short was the only time he had seen or heard of it as well. He also mentioned that on a couple occasions, early in his American film career, Lugosi had done private (non-studio photographer) photo sessions for his own publicity, although the bat in the background is a good match for the opening Dracula credits which makes me believe it was Universal related. Probably only a few prints were made and thus super rare, and in my opinion, the nicest Lugosi pose you could hope for. Any thoughts?
