When I attended the Worldcon in Atlanta some years back, a guy in the dealers' room had a bunch of large monster figures, essentially dolls, for sale. Several were of foreign origin including one I had never seen before, and have never seen--or read about--since. But there it was, in its own cardboard box and cello window, over a foot high: The Fly, David Hedison style, fly head, lab coat, fly hand in lab coat pocket. It was somewhat crude, but clearly an attempt at recreating what was on screen.
Has anyone here ever heard of this item?
IN the 1950s, there were no action figures from SF movies--in fact, the term "action figure" didn't exist yet--but now you can get model kits of, it seems, every single one of the monsters, aliens and critters from that decade.
