Mar 19 11 7:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My house is full of monsters and superheroes and, aside from one girl being afraid of an ET mask (in a house with lots of Pin Heads and Leather Faces), I've never had a problem. If a girl is interested enough to come to your house you shouldn't have to worry. My wife did make me move most of the monsters out of the kitchen though.

Apr 4 11 9:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I was a huge geek growing up. A TOTAL Monster Kid from the time I was about five & a serious comic book collector from the time I was eight or so. Had no interests/abilities at sports & was bullied in school quite a bit. Then came the advent of the Bruce Lee/KUNG FU TV series era & I became interested in the martial arts. And a bit later on, boxing. I eventually earned a black belt in Hawaiian Kempo & began fighting in the ring at 17. Though I retained my love for genre films, when I turned 18 I stopped collecting comics & decided to sell off my 3000 books as well as my FM collection. My inner geek screamed out at all this, but fighting, chasing girls & my budding collection of boxing memorabilia were what occupied my time & money for the following couple of decades. Until a couple of years ago, when I embraced my geek-dom & decided to begin re-gathering some of what I'd once had & enjoyed so much. Being in my late fourties, I believe some of it was/is a bit of mid-life crisis if you will. Only instead of chasing younger women ( no need to, my wife is already 10 years my junior... LOL ) & buying a sportscar ( I've virtually no interest in that ), I began a lovely collection of vintage monster mags & started buying comic books again after having stopped collecting them WAY back in 1980. And let me tell you, I LOVE being a geek again!

Apr 4 11 9:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	While I love the film THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, I hated the fact that the filmmakers wrote it so that as soon as Steve Carrell's character found himself a real girlfriend, he apparently lost ALL his interest in his action figure collection & the types of movies he enjoyed etc.. That just never ceases to irk me whenever I watch it. Like, just because he begins to get laid, his entire personality changes "for the better". He supposedly becomes a "real man" or some such thing. What's up with that? Total nonsense IMO.

The rest of the world seems to have caught up with us.Now you have toys marketed to adults, and superhero films that win Oscars. Most of the women I know love horror films, and even the cool kids wear t-shirts with superhero or horror film graphics. I've even seen girls hanging out at the comic shop, seemingly impressed by the guys who can tell them what issue Iceman's third cousin first appeared in and how much it's worth.

I love all those mock-up boxes of Aurora kits we never got...I think that's the largest selection of those I've seen together. (Unless I overlooked it, I think the only one you don't have is that mock-up Aurora 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA Nautilus box.)
