Does anyone have those rare, store displays that Aurora built up themselves? Or perhaps even those orange-plastic prototypes of models that never got issued?
I've got a few build-ups-- like the non-monster stuff such as JFK, but my two all-time favorite factory build-ups are the two monster ones that I got on a cold night about fifteen years ago at the Captain Company warehouse!
Dracula:

Big Frankie:

What strikes me as fascinating is the amount of detail that Aurora defined on the models using simple stencils and spray paint to make these. There's just a hint of red around Dracula's lips that you won't notice unless you look at the face up close.
Unfortunately, time hasn't been too gentle to these two rarities, and Big Frankie's left hand is missing. Also, the bats and some of the fingers on Dracula's left hand are missing, too.
Here's a question-- should I leave them as is or should I fix them to the specs of the Aurora model kit? Dracula is easy enough, but finding a hand for Frankie might be difficult.
Thoughts, anyone?
