Richard Valley of SCARLET STREET is battling cancer of the pancreas, as I suspect most of you know. There has been this ongoing battle between websites, individuals, etc over several topics - always stirring heat. But in the end, it is about monsters and movies and on the big scale of life - means very little. And now Richard has announced that he will finish the current issue, do enough special issues to fill subscriptions. Then call it a day with SS.
--SCARLET STREET has been an amazing magazine, full of provacative articles, terrific interviews and lots of current news. I've loved it from issue #1. Often times I felt caught in the middle between the anger of people who I really liked and respected. But my love and respect for this wonderful magazines has never flagged. And knowing what it takes to keep publishing a 'zine when it seems everything is working against you, I have that great respect for Rich V and his crew.
--God bless and keep Richard Valley well.
