Hey, here I am like so many others who drop in and ask for help identifying something.
This would be a comic from the 1960s. I'm guessing this was some kind of anthology type comic with several stories. I only remember the one story. The one that scared the daylights out of me.
As I remember it, there is rash of mysterious disappearances. Something is smashing into the windows of homes and taking children. Windows are boarded over only to be smashed to bits the next morning. One night, whatever it is, smashes into a house but somebody is ready for it. The thing, a giant, yellow (?) spotted hand with sharp fingernails is the culprit. When they go outside to see the rest of it they discover that it's "arm" is like a snake and winds its way around trees and other obstacles before disappearing down a manhole cover. My recollection is that this last scene is all in one large comic panel.
The reason this comic scared me so badly was because we had a manhole cover at the end of our driveway. It was easy to imagine this horrid hand creeping out of it and smashing in my window.
Anyone know what this was?
