I received mine in the mail today. On top of that it looks liked they colorized an old print. Even with the color, it doesn't look any better than any other print you've seen of this film. Also, "Cry Baby Killer" is very dark. The nighttime scenes are really bad. This is from Roger Corman's own copy? If so, I guess it will never look any better.

It's the colorized print with the colors turned off so that's not really a good version either. I got the recent release and was rather pissed that LS was colorized because I thought this would be the first legit release. However, I mainly got the disc for the other film so I'm certainly keeping it. We'll just have to wait on an official and good looking LITTLE SHOP.

Nov 23 06 4:22 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've seen the Legend Films disc, and the B & W is pretty good. It looks like a digitally cleaned-up 35mm print was used as the source. Contrast is slightly low, but otherwise it's fine. Frame grabs can be seen here: www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DV...review.htm The review suggests that the B & W version is NOT the colorized version with the chroma turned off, because the last frame grabs show frame damage in the B & W version not present in the colorized version.

That Legend Films disc does look good, and if anybody would know that the b/w version was the color one with the chroma turned down it'd be DVD Beaver (good ole' DVD Beaver). I can't remember if the original post was aimed at LSOH but that title was later brought up. It looks that way to me as well because, I don't really know what it is, but it just doesn't look like a B&W film. It reminds me of KILL BILL VOL. 1, which was not shot in B&W and color versions (talking about the final scene). To me it's pretty clear the "B&W" American version has its color simply turned down. It's even more clear after viewing the Japanese version with the color. Re: CRY BABY KILLER I watched this last night and had a really good time with it. I've been dying to see this movie for many years and it certainly lived up to the hype. The transfer started off a bit too dark (especially the opening credits where you can't even read the title) but it got a lot better as it went along. The print was virtually spotless of any splices, scratches or anything like that. It was a bit soft, which led to the darkness but overall it was good. The two video introductions with Corman were disappointing since he doesn't say too much.
