Don't you just hate when you place an order for DVDs online and when you get your package the contents are damaged? Well I had place a huge order with Deep Discount last month and I got most of the stuff yesterday crammed into a small box that resulted in all the DVD cases being smashed and cracked in most of the cases the cover artwork became torn. Needless to say I'm about to send them back for replacements this will the first time I'll have to do this with DD lets see how long it takes them to send replacements.

When I did, it was a simple matter of printing off the return shipping label, sticking the defective/damaged items back in the box they came in, affixing the label and putting the box back in the mail. The return label (printed from Amazon's website) takes care of the postage. Replacement items arrived via FedEx within 48 hours. I've never had to speak with anyone at Amazon, be they in Bangor or Bangalore. Emails have always sufficed.

Amazon.com does have an easy return policy and pays for return shipping if an item is damaged (and sends replacements before they receive the original merchandise back), that being said, 75% of my Amazon.com orders (books and DVDs) arrive damaged and have to be returned. This is either due to poor packaging or the stuff is damaged before it even ships. The only reason I keep using them is because I have the same problems with whoever I use, but most places don't pay for the return shipping (or ship for free [other than Deep Discount DVD] in the first place) even if the stuff is damaged. The last few orders I placed for box sets from Deep Discount DVD weren't even shipped in a box, they were stuffed in poorly padded envelopes and arrived crushed. Nothing makes me madder than to pay $30-$50 (or more in some cases) for a box set to have it arrive crushed. I'd rather pay the higher price and pick out a good copy of a book or DVD in a store but the selection for both is really poor these days and I'm forced to order online, but I DON'T like it!

I sent about five emails trying to rectify the problem, all of which were met with responses that had little to nothing to do with my problem. Finally, I sent an rather angry email outlining the problem as if I were explaining it to a child, and they finally replied that this was a problem several people were experiencing and that they were "working on it." A few days later it reappeared.
I also had lost my wish list at DD for like 3 or 4 weeks and it eventually reappeared but I never bothered calling or emailing them about it figure that would have been pointless your experience confirms my feeling.

S.O.B. once again a large order I place with Deep Discount was smashed to pieces. What a pain in the ass I guess I will from now on order one item at a time or perhaps I should just buy from other companies. Oh yes I'm still waiting for them to send a replacement for one of items from the first package smashed in November.
