Sorry I don't post about Noah's progress more. We've been busy with trips to Cincinnati, the Bash, and other summer activities (4-H, the county fair)--it never seems to end around here.

Noah is doing pretty good. He's as healthy as he's ever been, thanks to the hyperbaric oxygen treatments. We've also changed his diet, which has helped him out (although it's made his doctor mad, since we did it on the recommendation of the HBOT doctor, not Noah's general physician) quite a bit as well. His congestion has seemed to ease and he hasn't been sick in some time now.

Here, however, is the bad news: I was premature when I wrote to David last and told him our insurance was going to start covering the HBOT. I swear that's what my wife told me, but I misunderstood: the insurance company only agreed to CONSIDER paying. They've since considered, and subsequently denied paying for any HBOT treatments. We've been continuing to pay for them from the money raised for Noah in 2006. That money has now been mostly used. What's left won't cover any more sets of treatments.

We haven't actively asked for more contributions because we're also looking into some stem cell treatments. Umbilical stem cells, not fetal stem cells (we decided first thing we wouldn't consider fetal stem cell treatments). There is a doctor in Mexico (there are doctors from all sorts of foreign countries contacting us since we made our first inquiries into the treatments) who will come get us in southern California, take us to his compound in Mexico, do the treatments, and drive us back to southern California. The treatments themselves are $5000, not including any traveling expenses. I haven't even looked into that aspect of it all yet. And of course, we'd all need passports, which recently has been taking quite some time to get.

We'd love to provide the stem cell treatments for Noah at some time in the future. I'd like to study up on them a bit more before we make the final decision, but things are looking pretty positive. The doctor in Cincinnati (his HBOT doctor) thinks the stem cells would benefit Noah.

Susan and I have just now started talking about doing another benefit of some kind in our home town (Shelby, Ohio), but that will take time.

We appreciate any and all donations. But please don't feel obligated to contribute. You all have done so much for Noah already, and believe me, it has been appreciated, and it has helped him.

Don't hesitate to post any questions here. I'll try to log on more often and answer them.
