I actually find some of the Maggie stuff difficult to watch because it's so psychologically twisted. I can't believe they got away with showing this at a 3:30 p.m. slot in the afternoon. Barn's transition to a more heroic stance starts really with the 1795 storyline, which you'll see in due course if you keep following along from where you are now. Down almost to the very end, he has moments however when his more "Mr. Hyde" side starts to come out again. Julia does resist, or flatly refuse to go along with what Barnabas wants in some of the later stories, but it's rare, and she usually winds up helping to clean up the mess he makes afterwards anyway. It's really too bad the storyline pretty much fell apart in the final months, with no resolution at all to the main characters' story, and an irrelevant appendage set in Parallel Time 1841 for the concluding weeks.
