Nov 25 06 10:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have many favorite episodes, but my top favorite is DEATH SHIP with Jack Klugman, Ross Martin, and Fred Beir. It's also one of the hour long episodes. A great Richard Matheson tale and an excellent production all around.

Nov 26 06 2:38 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I think I'd have to say Anthony, tho I've seen it so many times and created 35 radio shows based on it. I can recite the dialogue like most people can with Wizard of Oz. The jack in the box shot will always weird me out no matter how many times I see it. Only this year did I discover NIGHT CALL. I saw it on Sci Fi Channel, then went out and just had to track down a commercial copy of it. I could only find VHS with the cardboard gatefold case, but I don't mind. It's so simple, and doesn't it have just two actors? The lady and her caretaker? You see Rod Serling doing his intro with a cigarette, then think about him dying at 50. That's how old I'll be next year and I know I'll never achieve what he did or have his astonishing imagination. Sometimes I get sick of his misanthropic preaching to humanity, but TZ also represents quite a rebellion in the "man in the gray flannel suit" conformity of the 50s.

The Devil can fool humans, but a good dog will sniff him out every time.

Feb 11 09 12:45 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Anyone familiar with my Ventriloquist Dummy Horrors thread knows that THE DUMMY is my favorite episode, by far. I've always thought that TZ was at its best when it really tried to rattle the audience by plunging head-first into dark waters. Episodes like THE DUMMY, IT'S A GOOD LIFE, EYE OF THE BEHOLDER and NIGHTMARE AT 20,000 FEET must've been truly shocking in their time since they still hold up so well today.

I always thought "The Thirty Fathom Grave" was particularly creepy. But my number one was, and remains, "A Stop at Willoughby." It gets me every time.

I just recently got the Bernard Herman score for Walking Distance. It just came out, tacked onto on the 2008 Fahrenheit 451 soundtrack CD. "The Invaders" The near perfect television story. Almost no dialouge to speak of. The story is told entirely in images. A tour de force performance by Agnes Moorehead. A one woman show, really. The only way they could have possibly improved it waould have been to include Matheson's original final line. Sure there are other greats... Just a few comments: The Jack Klugman/Billy Mumy episode "In Praise Of Pip" is one of the best ever. The Bewitchin' Pool, though very heavy-handed, still gives me the chills. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet still packs a wallop. Shatner is awesome in this. Night Call is as terrifying as ever. Still a powerful story. A defining episode.) - Perchance To Dream (still freaky after all these years.
