Mar 26 13 5:06 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I already own the MST3K versions of THE SLIME PEOPLE, THE DEADLY MANTIS, VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS, and ROCKET ATTACK USA on dvd-r. I also already own non-MST3K officially released DVDs of THE SLIME PEOPLE, THE DEADLY MANTIS, and VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS. As usual with these MST3K sets, I would love to see the extras, but I don't want to spend $40 (or whatever these sets retail for) just to see them. Yes, that really sounds like "nightmare fuel," doesn't it? (Especially that last one.) Well, that's good to hear. When I watched it on YouTube, a few people were griping about it. Of course, youtubers gripe about everything. I almost wish that site didn't exist, but then I wouldn't have been able to see the unreleased MST3K episodes without it. Go figure.

May 3 13 8:12 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	One of the few episodes I mainly leave alone is "Racket Girls," except for the short at the beginning, which I think is GREAT. First, I've never cared for the host segments on it. (Even though I try to think of them as maybe making fun of that habit people have of "outing" fictional characters, including TV characters!) Second, the movie part of episode has too many of those predictable female athlete jokes. Not the lesbian ones (at least, as far as I remember), but those "ugly female athlete" ones. I know it's largely an insult show, but none of those actresses WAS ugly, and the lead one was just about exotic-looking. So those jokes wear a little thin.

I'd say you're on the money with that one, even though I'd rather them release earlier episodes (Rocketship X-M, Jungle Goddess, Daddy-O, Earth vs. the Spider, The Amazing Colossal Man, Viking Women and the Sea Serpent, It Conquered the World, Teenage Caveman, Stranded in Space, War of the Colossal Beast, Being from Another Planet, Hercules and the Captive Women, Attack of the The Eye Creatures, and The Human Duplicators). Now I know some of these titles will be difficult to get released, but that doesn't stop me from wanting them. I will definitely be curious to see what other three episodes will appear on Volume XXVIII.

It was already released to DVD on the ELVIRA reboot. Or maybe that is why it hasn`t come out yet. Shout! may not want to release so soon after the ELVIRA DVD.

Susan Hart owns 5 of the AIP titles: TERROR FROM THE YEAR 5000, I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF, IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN, & ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES. And for whatever reason, she is sitting on the rights to release them to DVD. The longer she sits, the possibility that no one will pay her a plug nickel to buy the rights is greater. May 7 13 10:08 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I finally saw MILLION EYES OF SU-MARU just days ago. (In spite of liking escapist spy movies, I'd somehow never seen it even outside of MST.) Somehow I always thought it would be loaded down with "bad actor" / "B actor" jokes about Nader and Avalon. Again, I know it was largely an insult show, but that doesn't mean the insults can't wear really THIN. Instead, I liked it a whole lot. I'm still glad I set it aside, though, regardless of the reason. The same is true of OPERATION KID BROTHER, which I finally saw a month ago. I expected a "Sean Connery's talentless brother" joke every two minutes or so. And sure, it had that kind, but they were spaced out and mixed with a lot of others. One that I find it hard to watch again, but not because of the quality at all, is CITY ON FIRE. It's because it has to be about the GRIMMEST thing they ever showed. Sure, it's full of disaster movie cliches, but it also gets very graphic. Somehow Joel and the Bots make the episode funny, but it's still a little tricky watching it.
