The other day I was glancing through Stohl's slim volume on the history of the "golden age" of Pittsburgh's childrens TV, WHEN WE WERE KIDS....When I wound up discovering the intriguing tale of Johnny Skyrocket, an airshow entrepreneur who made all sorts of appearances on local television throughout parts of the country, in the late '50s and '60s....
This is a tad off topic, but I'm hoping it triggers memories of the late Mr. Stohl (as well as his pals Knish and Buster), as well as the intriguing fact that Stohl ultimately moved to Los Angeles, worked for a while doing guests shots on prime time series and elsewhere, before moving back to Connecticut and becoming as playwrite.
Once upon a time, there were also all sorts of pioneers in the tomorrow world....
