If Connery had been in this film it probably would have been the best Bond/007 film ever made since we know Bond will never fall in love and get married again. The editing, ski chases and incredible John Barry score have already been mentioned. I'm a car nut as well and have to give a shout out to the beautiful Aston Martin DBS (Lazenby later drove the signature DB5 in THE RETURN OF THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.) and Tracy's '67 Ford Cougar.
Sadly, Q didn't equip the DBS with bullet-proof glass.

Right Rick, the context here was the two men's chops in their first Bond-ings, not the overall quality of the films themselves. But DR. NO ain't exactly chopped liver. And though I love OHMSS, already some camp is creeping in, whereas NO is pretty straight-up "Men's Adventure" stock. I sat next to "Blofeld" one day on the KOJAK revival. No showtunes, but seemed a quiet pro. Only later did I hear that he was fighting cancer at the time.
