Well, since I already have two of these films on my old Midnite Movies discs, I think I'll pass. It looks as though this is more likely a rental, and less something I actually want to own. If any of these ever get upgrades a la The Neanderthal Man then I'll check them out.

It just seems like a bad move for Shout! Factory to endanger their reputation by releasing such terrible-looking DVDs.

If any of these ever get upgrades a la The Neanderthal Man then I'll check them out. NEANDERTHAL MAN already had an HD transfer ready to go, so Shout merely had to encode it for Blu-ray. None of the titles on the Timeless Horror set are available in HD, so Shout would have to spend money on them, and I don't see them rushing to throw money at something like SNAKE WOMAN.It just seems like a bad move for Shout! Factory to endanger their reputation by releasing such terrible-looking DVDs. Maybe that's why they got put out under the Timeless label rather than Shout.

Doesn't Shout! own the Timeless label? I always assumed that Timeless was Shout's budget DVD division?

I was very excited when I heard that Shout Factory was putting out FACE OF MARBLE at last. It's not a great film, of course, but it's one of the few titles from the classic era that has never been on home video legitimately. What a big disappointment! It's just about unwatchable. I would vote FACE OF MARBLE the worst looking licensed release for 2013. Maybe even this decade so far. Seriously, it actually looks like a bad Alpha release. Shout Factory must not have seen the material before they announced it. Have they commented on what went so wrong with this title? They would have been better off canceling it and saving the embarrassment of having their good name on this mess.
A lot of us Monogrammers bought this set for this title only. I sure did. Before anyone says "Yeah, but look at how cheap this set is." I would have paid twice the price for a stand-alone bare-bones good quality copy of this film. I wonder if Bob Furmanek knows of a better print in existence? Then they could re-do this title and have a recall of this set.
