Dracula would be searching, well, for more blood with Van Helsing in pursuit. This would sort of work like the NBC Sunday Mystery Movie that rotated McCloud, McMillan & Wife, Columbo and Hec Ramsey.

A cable miniseries might be the answer. That means you can appeal to the niche crowd and no one really gives a damn if it sinks or swims.

It and '31 Karloff have that in common: they cannot possibly be improved upon - they actually look like what they're supposed to be (though Karloff's skill truly made the Monster).

With the technology today they could blend some of the footage from A&C Meet into the beginning and go from there. I think where the Wolf Man fell down is they should have Re-made the 41 flic, set it in the 40's and bring it to life. I don't think any kids who saw the new one rushed out to buy the 41 version, there was no connection any more than there was with Dark Shadows and the tv series.Monster Squad failed because although the monsters were pretty great, the kids in the film were annoying!!! I almost was hoping they'd all get eaten at some point, and as time goes on last time I tried to watch it I couldn't stand them and turned it off.

Wow, Scott, I had forgotten Jeff Rovin's Return if the Wolf Man. That would make an impressive mini-series. Thanks for bringing that up!
