Hi guys (John Rozum, long time!). Nothing like moving when you're in post. Really cramping my time. Anyway, just some quick behind-the-scenes notes here.

Finishing up the rough cut and we recently needed some key voice over work done. Mike (always thinking) "Precode" came up with the great idea of having a Paul Frees tribute. We called in voice master Corey Burton, not only a genre fan and great guy--but someone who does a dead-on Frees voice (we're talking uncanny here). Corey was a pleasure to work with and we had a blast talking about Frees (his major inspiration) in TIME MACHINE (love those talking rings!), EARTH VS. FLYING SAUCERS, etc.



Mike had another brilliant idea and brought along voice legend June Foray for a making-of interview extra. She was absolutely delightful, and it was great to listen to her (in more ways than one).



Prior to this the main title song was recorded by the great Manhattan Transfer (seen here with me in their midst).



Christopher Caliendo orchestrated and arranged the song in lush late 50s/early 60s manner (seen here conducting the orchestra).



The orchestra recorded at historic Studio A at Capitol a week before the Transfer recorded their parts. With no time for rehearsal, Christopher had the unenviable task of breaking their parts down, so they'd take turns in the booth singing a line or a phrase individually. I couldn't be happier with the outcome, which is richer and more complex than we ever imagined. Anyway, wish I had more posting time. More later.
