This months's Mojo magazine has an article about this lost sci-fi film.
Basics:
- it was a sci-fi film about 3 aliens (among them Gram Parsons and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas) who come to Earth to save it from ecological disaster, and also try to help a Victorian era child lost in time return to his own time
- The Flying Burrito Brothers made some publicity photos in their space outfits for their last album with Parsons
- Douglas Trumbull was going to do the outer space effects for the movie. His effects appear to have never been started, but many of the rigs he made were used on The Andromeda Strain, and I think the way the ships were described for Saturation 70, they would have looked alot like the Close Encounters of the Third Kind ships.
- They ran out of funding, but basic photography was finished. However, the work print and apparently all the raw footage has went missing. The Mojo article has a few extant stills, including the aliens in a grocery store and Michelle Phillips in her space suit.
Anybody know anything more about this?
