Feb 27 13 12:22 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't know if it's because my expectations were so low, or what, but "Elementary"is a far better show than I thought it would be. Fun plots and good actors. "Sherlock" is still the better show by far,but at least "Elementary" isn't a horrible embarrassment.

Apr 28 13 12:37 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I was watching this week's "Elementary" with my eyes closed, when my little ears picked up the words "Charles Augustus Milverton". (A typo here, originally, made me realize that the animated version of this episode would be called "Charles Augustus Milvertoon". Yes, it would.) And yes it was based on that ACD story, roughly. I know when I watch with my eyes closed I miss little things like Jonny Miller's businesses with his hands, which is amusing.... However characteristic it may be, the sound that escapes from human lips is fugitive & does not survive the speaker. But it was not so with the pronunciation of the Bergotte family. For if it is difficult ever to understand, even in the "Meistersinger", how an artist can invent music by listening to the twittering of birds, yet Bergotte had transposed & fixed in his written language that manner of dwelling on words which repeat themselves in shouts of joy, or fall, drop by drop, in melancholy sighs.

05/18/13 12:26 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Someone at the creative end probably thought the conclusion to this year's "Elementary" was brilliant; hopefully, someone else noted that it was closer to moronic. Don't want to spoil anything so I won't say more. "Closer to moronic"
