never a fan of "The Prisoner" show, but got the bluray on sale T-Day to see if I liked it any better. In a bizarre, hilarious example of low-tech security clearance, a ruling member had to use a special coin put into "The Thing" coin bank. I dont see any listings for it here, so I thought I'd mention it.
It was a battery operated novelty toy modeled on the disembodied hand ("the thing") in the Addams Family. Small black box with a coin holder slot on top. Put a coin in it, the box starts to shake like there's something in it, then a green hand moves up and grabs the coin. I remember them from kidhood, but havent seen one in years. The originals had a green mitten-like hand, but newer ones are Caucasian tone with articulate fingers.
When I looked for a video, I also saw a similar wind-up coffin with skeleton.
