Jul 13 06 3:19 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I couldn't find it anywhere else on here, so I figured that I'd add it here. I personally like this movie, and think that the sheer amount of rats in it is really creepy. Does anyone else like this version?

Jul 13 06 3:34 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	As far as modern remakes go, it wasn't too bad, I didn't think. But I much preferred the 1971 film. The ending of the "new" version really copped out. And while Crispin Glover is naturally odd enough for a Willard type, I enjoyed Bruce Davison's gradual descent into madness much more. I also thought the excuse for the use of Michael Jackson's song "Ben" in the remake was dopey. ---------------------- "It's MORE ... than a hobby!"

I've always wondered why needless modern remakes seem to require to have some sort of "bond" with the original film, such as by including a song or an "inside reference", or a cameo by an older cast member, etc... They're so concerned about "making another version", and yet they always have to make this association with the old... ---------------------- "It's MORE ... than a hobby!"

Hedging their bets, I guess, to show the horror fans like us their "respect" for the original (and to show how hip they are as well). I liked the remake also, but found myself continually distracted in the rat-swarm scenes by the amount of rat feces all over the place. I know that they poop almost constantly, but sheesh, what a rough shoot that must've been...

Jul 14 06 12:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I like it when "remakers" include references to the original movie, as when Seth Brundle pleads, "Help me...please, help me." I think it's their way of admitting that, no, they didn't create the concept, they're only doing a new version of an old one. Legend, oh legend, the third wheel legend...always in the way.
