Sep 11 12 8:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I rather like it. That and Billy The Kid Vs Dracula are just a time capsule of 1960's kiddie matinees. They are cheaply made and badly directed with hammy performances, but they've got something going for them. The DVD I have has a great audio commentary with Joe Bob Briggs That really makes the film for me. I think it was the last film for just about everyone in the movie.

Sep 13 12 6:26 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I just can't get into this film. Saw it once and pretty much never again. I think I like BILLY THE KID MEETS DRACULA a bit more. In either case, I couldn't imagine any Westerns fan rushing out to see these (a book I have on the Old West considers both the Worst Westerns Ever Made - I wonder what non-horror westerns are worse). If only a little more care was taken for mood and story - I think TEEN FRANKENSTEIN is a much better film in a genre-combining way. Deep water is dark and restful and full of peace.

Sep 14 12 7:43 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I know I should enjoy this and its co-feature BILLY more. I knew that when I saw them as a brand-new double feature in 1966. Even at 16 years of age, I was pretty sure that movies with such titles were not likely to be cinematic treasures. But I did expect fun and found only boredom. Even then at that young age. I've seen BILLY once or twice since then and can now get just a leeeettlle pleasure from its goofiness. I don't think I've ever watched JESSE again. I probably should, just to be fair, but I don't wanna! Wahh!! I don't wanna!

(And they also sell them very cheap on their own.) For some reason BILLY THE KID VS. DRACULA is only available on bargain basement labels, yet JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER got a really nice release from Elite hosted by (and with optional commentary from) Joe Bob Briggs. Not sure why they never followed that up with the Dracula film. As low-rent as these are, I think they deserve a bit better. I remember one video label had paired the films on VHS; wish someone would do the same for DVD and throw on the original double feature theatrical trailer done for them. (If anything cried out "Drive-In DVD," it would be these.) Texas John Slaughter Vs. The Mummy/Belle Starr Meets The Invisible Man/Butch Cassidy and the Wolfman Kid/Creature from the Tombstone Lagoon OLD THREE-HORNS: Two bank robbers on the lamb flee south of the border, hiding out in an area the local natives say is haunted by "El Diablo," the Devil's Bull.
