It seems like this batch of TGG releases have better transfers, however last years batch it was a hodgepodge of new and old transfers. The disc with White Lightning utilized an old full frame master when their was a widescreen one on mgm hd. Same goes for Lifeforce. I really wish MGM had given them the 16:9 hd master of Lifeforce that was airing on MGM HD and netflix. At least from what I have deduced, this batch gets it right. I just hope TGG announces a real release date soon. I am so glad all of the Death Wish sequels as well as some Chuck Norris films got a widescreen release through TGG as well as a new Blu-ray release. However the TGG and blu of Death Wish II is the R-rated cut. I find this odd as Netflix and MGM HD previously aired a new HD master of the uncut vs. While I know that the R-rated cut is what was originally released here in the states, I don't understand why they didn't use this longer cut that had a readily availiable master.

MGM does a great job but some of the decisions in matters such as this don't seem to make a lot of sense. If for some reason they didn't realize that an inferior master was used, I would hope they would at least correct it. I was so excited to purchase Death Wish II but see no reason to now as I have an uncut widescreen French disc. I'd much rather support the American side of the business but I still don't really understand that decision regarding that particular title. Jameson, I am knew to this board, do you work with MGM? If so, great to meet you! I am always interested to meet people who work in the business that I love. do you know when these other slated TGG titles are set to come out? I look forward to seeing what MGM has up their sleeve regarding some future blu-rays. There are a lot of titles that I hope are possibilities for blu-ray release. Kneeteartap I am interested in your title. What would you be willing to charge for it? -Mark
