I always appreciated the clever design and the clever, if
low-budget, effects. Mark Sullivan's matte paintings are still A+++ effects work and I love them.

I saw it again on the free movies on demand channel on my cable system and … decades later … I get it.It's all about creepy vignettes and not to be taken
as a straight science fiction film. I always appreciated the clever design and the clever, if low-budget, effects. Mark Sullivan's matte paintings are
still A+++ effects work and I love them. It's a bit of a time-wasting diversion but I've sat through loads worse. So just watch the very creepy bits
and enjoy the clever bits. As to the pacing … sigh … you can really tell the difference between a a good director and the merely competent.
Look! A matte painting has appeared in our generic (but somehow Californian)
small town! Sure we are teenagers.
Oh! More cool effects shots. We'd like them but they aren't CGI.
