Armstrong seemed to pop up always as a head strong character type befitting of his name but not always likeable in fact the least likeable roles seem to pop into my mind when thinking of him like from LONE WOLF MCQUADE and THE CAR he played two real jerks (to keep PG) in those films. R.I.P. R.G. Luis

I've seen him in many roles over the years but the one that sticks in my mind is rancher Kevin McDonald in EL DORADO with John Wayne and Robert Mitchum. It's one of my favorite westerns, second only to THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE.
