I remember seeing this when I was in high school and being absolutely riveted by the story, the special effects, everything. One of those flicks that you walk out of and instantly say, "I can't wait to see THAT again."

I was first in line for the openning of T2! I've always thought it was Cameron's best film... Everything works so well in it! The tension is relentless, and there's never a dull moment...

Mar 15 09 9:28 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Before I saw THE TERMINATOR at a press screening, I called Harlan to tell him that from what I knew of the plot, it did indeed resemble that of "Soldier" (and had touches of "Demon with a Glass Hand," too). The day after the press screening, I--and several others--called him to fill in the details.. He contacted the distributors, invited them to his home and showed them his print of "Soldier." The distributors were convinced, and yes, a mention of Harlan was inserted into the credits. There was one other bit of evidence that was a solid clincher, but I'd probably better not mention it here. There's a character named "Ellison" in the Terminator-based TV series. Cameron was dumb enough-- or filled with enough hubris-- to talk openly to a Starlog interviewer about plagiarizing chunks of "...an old series called The Outer Limits," specifically, these two episodes. The writer and the magazine later vetted that comment from the published version fo the Q & A, but Harlan Ellison was notified of it, and this bolstered his legal argument.
