Britney Spears goes nutsy koo-koo, parties all night, gives a totally lackluster "comeback" performance on some music awards show, leaves her 2 babies with nannies so she can go bar hopping and then shaves off all her hair. It's a little hard to listen to her albums then and not think of all the craziness. Sadly, it pays to be a "bad boy" it today's society. I unfortunately find it hard to separate the performers from their off screen "Performances." Roman Polanski - has sex with an underage girl, goes to trial, illegally flees the country, thumbing his nose at the judicial system, and he gets a standing ovation at the Oscars when his movie wins the Academy Award. I don't know about you, but I can't even remember the name of the film. I remember seeing it, but guess I wasn't as impressed as his "peers" were. Mel Gibson - The Passion Of The Christ - The anti-Semitic remarks. But he's still making movies. Charlie Sheen - ya watch him boozing on Two And A Half Men - ya see him boozing on youtube video rants Tom Cruise - Bouncing up and down on Oprah's couch saying he's in love for the first time (after being married twice before - guess he married 2 people he didn't love), seeing him verbally joust with Matt Lauer on the Today Show calling him "glib" because he disagrees with Cruise on Psychiatry - after all, Cruise "researched" the history of Psychology so he know much more that the average Joe on the subject. And then we have the modern celebrity - ya know, the ones who are famous for, well, what are they famous for? Paris Hilton. Bethany Frankel. Kim Kardashian. Hey, if Kim can be famous, why can't her sister Khloe be famous too? And who can forget Bubble's the chimp. Why, he was even the date of Michael Jackson at The American Music Awards. Now days the more famous you are, the more they wanna push the buttons. Actually, many lesser famous people push those buttons to try to be more famous. They will only appear if they have only green M&M's in their dressing rooms. No orange fruits. They must be allowed to fly with their cute little chihuahua. And he must be given his own seat. And it must be a window seat. And he must fly for free or they won't fly that airline ever again. Heck, if you or I tried pulling that crap, they'd kick us off the plane. Hey, wait. If they did kick me off the plane I could run and cry to the press, get plenty of publicity, and then I'D be famous too. God bless America!

Of course, none of that excuses their bad behavior- but it sometimes means the work has value that shouldn't be disregarded just because they're a jerk.

I say.
