The hot-off-the-presses issue of CLASSIC IMAGES is a "Bad Guy" issue and the two main articles are on William Talman (with LOTS of photos, all the way back to boyhood) and James Griffith.

There's definitely a tough cynicism to Mitchum, but Robert ("Maniac Cop") Z'dar is DEFINITELY scary. And Bill Smith (nice guy that he truly is - not to mention super-intelligent) has a face you would not want to encounter in a dark alley. Unforgettable as Falconetti on TV's "Rich Man, Poor Man ". Thanks for the reminder, Mike!

Have to say, though, that in that photo Megowan looks like a waxwork.

I found a PAL collection of the Jeunet and Caro films but I cannot bring myself to get it, cause I already have most except for one of them, The Bunker of the Last Gunshots (1981) which I did not know existed. Is it worth it?

William Smith looks tough,like hes seen it all and has some cold,cold intentions behind that rugged face. The sort of face you would avoid eye to eye contact with. A lot of actors on this list look less intimidating and more like Basil Wolverton drawings of two bit gang film hoods.

No fair. Was just watching "The Rifleman" this morning and instantly thought of Chuck Connors. Definitely a unique look. He was especially creepy in "Tourist Trap". BTW: Chuck must have been a horror fan; remember reading an interview with him where he said he was pleased to be appearing in fright films and hoped to continue.
