Ya just don't see stuff like that aired on TV these days....both USA and T NT are pretty much wastelands now for movies.

The classic TV reruns were squeezed out from Nick by "original programs" and moved to TVLand, where the same thing happened AGAIN! Death to "original programming"!

Back in the early 80s, they had access to Precode RKO films, and remarkably, the James Whale ONE MORE RIVER. This was between 1982 and 1984: I got my first VCR in 1982. They usually showed the RKO titles at 3 am, and I remember getting 13 WOMEN, ANN VICKERS, CHRISTOPHER STRONG and the treasure of ONE MORE RIVER. As far as I know, that is the last time that OMR was shown until TCM presented it in 2012. They USED to be REALLY GOOD! "E" Your Signature ... "....I do hope he won't upset Henry..."

Rhonda was sexy and mildly amusing, but I remember UP ALL NIGHT being a dumping ground for Troma/Fred Olen Ray/Jim Wynorski flicks and little else. Probably a way to compete, as best they could, with what Skinemax was running on Friday nights at the time. A far cry from the weekly goodies NIGHT FLIGHT would shower us with. Meanwhile, the rest of the old USA schedule (COMMANDER USA'S GROOVIE MOVIES, SATURDAY NIGHTMARES, LOST IN SPACE, LAND OF THE GIANTS, etc) was being replaced by generic movie slots, generic sitcom reruns, SILK STOCKINGS and SWAMP THING: THE SERIES (no offense meant to fans of those shows). Some of that was likely due to USA's parent company gearing up to launch SCI-FI CHANNEL. UP ALL NIGHT eventually got a lot worse when they replaced Rhonda Shear with Gilbert Gottfried. Fortunately, TNT instituted 100% WEIRD on Friday nights and MONSTERVISION on Saturday nights, which is where my eyeballs could be found by that time. I gave up on USA a long time ago, and have only returned in the last few years to catch new episodes of BURN NOTICE. "I say ALL you scientists are CRACKPOTS! Nothing is going to happen..."
