That is, except for the pop culture presence of the George Reeves, Dean Cain, and Tom Welling Supes TV series; the Adam West Bat TV series, and the Tim Burton and Christian Bale Bats films; 20 years of acclaimed WB animation productions involving both of those characters as well as most others from the DC stable; and various adenda like the Flash TV series, the Supes Broadway show and radio series, the Filmation toons, the serials... I would like to be wrong. Michael Rosenbaum made the best Lex ever.

Jun 10 12 1:52 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm with both of you guys - they were both good. Talbot was the obvious template for the Silver Age Swan Lex I grew up on. And Rosenbaum was terrific. Spacey, a MAJOR letdown; Hackman, might've been great if the part was written right (and he had something to do with that...), but as it was, a goof.

Jun 10 12 5:07 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hackman's Luthor along with Otis seems like a remnant from the Batman TV series and would have fit nicely had they made a "camp" Superman series back in the 1960's. His Luthor was the weakest part of the Superman movies with Chris Reeve.

(And I definitely count voice-only performances; Bud Collyer was one of the best Supes ever, and Kevin Conroy a solid Bats.) Another weak (and haired!) Lex was John Shea; but then, LOIS & CLARK in general misfired.

If they make either of them I would think they would either try to do it after a new rebooted Batman series kicked off, or they would try to get Bale. People wouldn't see him as the "real"Batman if a new actor was cast out of the blue for a team up film.
