May 28 12 8:10 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've been really enjoying catching these lately on Me-TV. I have the classic 39 on a DVD set, but there's nothing like seeing them on TV, along with the "lost episodes". One of the funniest shows ever on television, IMO.

May 28 12 8:20 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Jackie Gleason is one of my all time performing heroes along with Lon Sr., Zero Mostel, Orson Welles, and Roscoe Arbuckle. Together Gleason and Art Carney set the standard for comedic teamwork, at least as far as TV is concerned.

May 28 12 11:38 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Count me in. I'm a lifelong Honeymooner fan. Gleason flawlessly mined huge laughs from a character that could have been very unlikeable. Thn you toss in Art Carney to play off of and you have magic. I watched them as a kid, as a teenager and now as an adult. My best buddy and I watch reruns in his home theater! I recall Jackie in an interview from the 70's. He was asked why The Honeymooners have endured over the years. His perfect, yet simplistic response? "Because it's funny"

May 29 12 4:57 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Me-TV is airing the "Lost episodes" in the AM, and the "Classic 39" in the evenings, so it's cool to contrast them. The Classic 39 are generally more polished for sure, and they are cream of the crop, but I am really intrigued by the 'Lost Episodes' most of which I've seen at one time or another, but every once in a while one pops up I've not seen before. They are much less even in quality than the Classic 39, but when they hit their mark, sometimes they exceed that quality standard. I also find many of them a bit more sentimental, which I enjoy a lot. Anyway, just some random thoughts...

Whenever they're aired on TV they're usually cut and missing important stuff. Some of those skits were at an awkward 40 minutes or so in length. "Guy named Squeamy got thrown from the fifth floor. Jun 10 12 9:42 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	One of the reasons I love this show is the feel of the 50's it has in the intro and throughout. I'd say of the shows that have been syndicated widely since the 50's, this show and THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN have that 50's feel to them the most, and it's something I've always been interested in.
