May 27 12 12:45 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I noticed that Comcast's Xfinity On Demand is offering horror movies for only $2.99 a piece for such films like BLACK SABBATH (AIP English Dubbed Version), CURSE OF THE FACELESS MAN, THE CONQUEROR WORM (AIP Version), DEMON,DEMON (1975 with Juliet Mills), DOCTOR DRACULA (1981) and GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE (legit licensed from MGM version, not shoddy pd version). This is an alternative to streaming and downloading plus you can record it.

Those of us stuck with Time Warner Cable shouldn't hold our breath -- though it makes one wonder if TWC shouldn't be offering something comparable with the classic titles in the WB library...

They also have THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, THE BLOB (the original and the 80's remake), NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, THE CAR, and THE SENTINEL. You can go to their non-HD movies and and find even more films. There's a 'Science Fiction' category with more good stuff, like THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN. Another category I like it the 'Cutting Edge' category on the main menu. It has a sub-category for 'Something Weird' featuring a selection of shorts and features from the Something Weird catelogue. I recently saw the Herschell Gordon Lewis classics THE GIRL, THE BODY, AND THE PILL and JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT for the first time, thanks to Comcast. It's all ABSOLUTELY FREE . . . assuming you pay out the @$$ for one of their premium packages.

Jun 2 12 3:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I like the rare hard to find stuff like The Boneyard and The Twilight People- even Ken Russel's "Salome's Last Dance". (Not quite fantasy, but odd and super rare) In other words things I haven't seen a million times. They do have a very good selection, with many favorites. I still need The Nest from around 87. (Lovecraftian mutant coackroaches. It would take some explaining to show why I like that one.)

Jun 4 12 3:22 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just to clarify, the Streampix service isn't free even if you have the digital cable/dvr/hd package. It's $4.95 a month extra. But if you call Comcast/Xfinity, they will give you a free trial period of 3 months. Just remember to cancel it after the trial period so you don't get charged. I checked out The Mummy's Hand in HD and it wasn't a great print, didn't look any better than my legacy collection DVD. Crater Lake Monster looked like it had been transferred from a VHS tape, but it was still interesting to see it finally.
