But they have to be real remakes into the specific franchise. If someone out there makes a new Frankenstein or Dracula film, they're usually basing it on the original source novel, not a sequel for the Universal flicks. (The recent Wolf Man film, on the other hand, I could accept as an entry, as there's no real source material).

May 25 12 11:08 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A franchise is a different proposition from a series. Remakes and reboots made by the originators would fall into the franchise category. It's even possible that a company that later acquires rights to scattered films with the same character to lump them all together as part of a franchise.
