A couple are somewhat rare, so sorry for the "Barbenfouillis" watermark. As soon as I can get the boy Hank, I'll have him tow the old duck boat with the wireless bomb and leave it under the radio shack where that Evans chap has his laboratory and his confounded radioplane. Off of the top of my head, one example that I am pretty sure is extant would be The Sky Ranger (a serial). That one is very near the top of my Want List. (Original title: A Short History of Death Rays) I can't vouch for my accuracy back then, and the copy is now rather faint, but here are the features featured in the article: An Hour before the Dawn ('13) The Light That Kills ('13) The Pawns of Mars ('15) Perils of Paris, Story without a Name, Laughing at Danger, The Death Ray, & an untitled short by H. Grindell-Matthews (all '24) The Death Ray (Russ) '25 Code of the Air '28 Chandu, Murder at Dawn, & Mask of Fu Manchu (all '32) Wolf Dog '33 Master of the World (G) and Air Hawks (both '35) Girl from Scotland Yard '37 Flight to Fame and Arrest Bulldog Drummond (both '38) Sky Bandits ('38 or '40) from the 50s: Dick Barton at Bay, Krakatit (F), Alert to the South (F), etc. I also had a section on death rays in serials, & a brief listing of photos of rays in magazines like STI, Spaceman, etc. I don't know how it would copy but I could snail mail you a copy of the whole thing, complete with sophomoric humor. (Gary was very understanding.) Literally--I think I was a sophomore at UCLA at the time....

Death Ray (1925) = Luch Smerti from Russian, no? And, ah, yes without Mr. H. Grindell-Matthews & before him Signor Ulivi and their real life death ray hoaxes (an oxymoron in there somewhere), half of these films wouldn't have been made (at least to my mind, the ones in the silent era). Have to check/recheck some of the others out..for instance Perils of Paris (which is a.k.a. Terreur with Pearl White, I believe.
