Feb 16 11 10:51 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm still wating to see who is going to play the following (if they are in the script): Roger Collins, David Collins, Caroline Stoddard, Maggie Evans, Sam Evans, Prof. Elliot Stokes, Burke Devlin, Ghost Of Bill Maloy, Laura Collins (The Phoenix), Jason McGuire, Josette du Pres, Peter Bradford, Mr. Wells, Philip Todd, Mrs. Johnson, Joe Haskell, Mr. Trask (Reverend Trask) and Sarah Collins among some others. I don't know if there is going to be a werewolf in this film and if there will be a second or third film, I do know Warner Bros. is looking at this film as a possible franchize or series of Dark Shadows films. - I would like to see a werewolf but depending on the script and storyline I would imagine not. I know that Chris Jennings is haunted and cursed by the Werewolf, who in turn is influenced by the Ghost Of Quentin Collins. I think having Quentin in this possible first movie would be a mistake, then again if he shows up at the end of the film, then that would make sense and kick off a second feature film.

Pfeiffer would play matriarch of the Collins clan at Collinwood, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, and Bonham Carter is eyeing the role of Dr. Julia Hoffman, a specialist in psychology and rare blood disorders who moves into Collinwood. Johnny Depp plays the lead role of vampire Barnabas Collins. Previously-announced cast members include Eva Green as the witch Angelique, Jackie Earle Haley as conman Willie Loomis, and Bella Heathcoate as Victoria Winters, the young governess of the Collins estate. The film is based on Dan Curtis' cult '60s supernatural TV show that ran from 1966 - 1971. "Dark Shadows" was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap-opera that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.

Talking to Collider, Depp said: "I'm very excited to film it... It's something Tim [Burton] and I have talked about for a number of years, because we were both fans." Touching on the script, Depp added that: "There's something very interesting coming from the screenplay... which is that it retains that sort of bizarre distance that everyone has with one another, in terms of the characters... It's definitely in-keeping with the original series." To view the full interview, click here. Elsewhere, the official Dark Shadows newsletter ShadowGram reports that Tim Burton's regular composer Danny Elfman will create the musical score for the new film, adding that "Robert Cobert's original theme will likely be integrated." Elfman's other credits include Men in Black, Red Dragon and Spider-Man along with theme music for The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives. ShadowGram also confirms that Dark Shadows will film at Pinewood Studios from May onwards, with post production scheduled to stretch into next year. The movie is expected to debut in cinemas in 2012.

With the show riding high in the ratings, the first big screen Dark Shadows spin-off was made in 1970, with the television cast retelling the story of Barnabas Collins' release into the present day. The film was produced while new episodes were still taping, with the actors juggling both assignments. House of Dark Shadows did brisk business at the box office and spawned the sequel Night of Dark Shadows, produced just after the television series ended. Speaking on their Facebook page in recent weeks, copyright holders Warner Bros have updated the status of the films on DVD: "Both Dark Shadows movies were being being readied for release as far back as 2006, but we've been holding back the releases in order to coincide with the new Dark Shadows movie. The wait will have been worth it, as this will now allow Barnabas to be Blu." So, expect a DVD and BluRay release in 2012. It's not yet known if the films will include bonus features; In the case of Night of Dark Shadows, a director's cut of the film located in 1999 would allow many crucial lost scenes to be restored. Mar 9 11 3:52 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm starting to get a bad vibe about this movie, after some short and brief interviews with the some of the actors and film crew and missing characters that seem to be not in this movie. Its looking pretty bleek for this film production. First off is the brief interview with Carter who has stated that her role is very short, what!? Her character is in the story for at least half of the last end of the storyline. There's no news or any inclanation if the following characters are even in this script. Such as Roger Collins, David Collins, Prof. T. Elliot Stokes, Maggie Evans, Sam Evans and a few others. I bet Curtis is stirring in his grave right now. I bet this film is going to fly like a tird and crash like one. Count me out, its too bad too 'cause I was excited about this film after reading some eye-opening interviews and news on this film recently, I'm asking what the hell is Burton, Depp and Greene thinking, WTF!? Bottom line I think this Dark Shadows is going to be a big Dull Shadows. Its a shame.

I think this will be what I've always thought it would be: a Depp/Burton take on Dark Shadows....which means lots of weirdness that's not the same as what the series offered. The one thing I know I don't want for certain is a near/exact remake of House Of Dark Shadows....
