May 19 12 7:25 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Yeah, and TEENAGE ZOMBIES is not a lot better. That's a double-feature that I could have seen when I was a kid, but passed on for some reason. I regret most of the movies I passed on back in those days. This pair though -- not so much.

May 20 12 7:45 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	For some reason,I like Teenage Zombies. Don't love it,but I can watch it from time to time. IPW is pretty dull. But they're both still better than other Jerry Warren films. That's not saying much though.

I mercifully hadn't thought of either of these in years, but tonight I stumbled over this ad... ...and that reminded me of this catastrophe... At least the leading man has one of the all-time great names -- WARHAWK TANZANIA!!! I actually paid for tickets to see both of these things. That's 7 dollars and 3 hours lost forever.

Somewhere I think I have a little mini-review or, at least, some notes for a review which I jotted down after seeing one of those. I'll see if I can find it, see what my immediate thoughts were. I doubt they were kind.

I think the most scathing immediate review i've ever wrote was for VAN HELSING, which I saw opening night with my closest friends. Wow. I've never seen such universal HATRED. That Christmas, I got my friends the action figures as a joke. I got the Frankenstein toy for my birthday. I still got it :P

I don't think I have it anymore and that's probably just as well. I 'spect it was just 4 or 5 single-spaced pages of confused, drooling, barely-understandable rant. Actually did pretty much the same thing with the first X-Files movie. I know that's lost, and that's too bad, 'cause I'm not watching that dreck again to remind myself of why I hated it so.

I haven't found an "immediate review" for either of those crummy movies, but I did find, right away, a list of "75 Worst" films that I put together probably almost 35 years ago. I wrote little mini-reviews of each movie on the list, so here's what I wrote ... ...about...ABAR..."Black scientist creates superman potion. Black bodyguard drinks it, sets out to clean up the ghetto. Film has its heart in the right place, but its head is missing. Possibly the 'First Black Superman', but definitely a genuine black bomb." and about...THE DEVIL'S EXPRESS..."Ancient demon loosed in New York subways. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Terrrriibbbbblllllleee. Must be seen to be believed. Acting horrible. Script horrendous. Direction abysmal. And the worst fight scenes ever filmed. Terrible. But... you just have to love any film that stars Warhawk Tanzania." Thank God! Now I never have to watch either of them again.

May 27 12 4:42 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Those two certainly sound like real doozies! I confess that i've seen so many movies, especially awful ones, that I tend to forget them sometimes! Today I watched COMMANDOS STRIKE AT DAWN, which was by no means a bad movie, but it was one that I thought I never saw until a few minutes in and I had deja-vu. I actually got this confused with THE MORTAL STORM for whatever reason.

And also appreciate learning about LIFE RETURNS and GET THAT GIRL, both of them are stinkers, but I kind of like them anyway. Thank you for the info! It looked like an awful video game. You'd think any movie with Kate Beckinsale would have some kind of merit.

There were redeeming values in Van Helsing, and also in some of the other titles being tossed around here. Jun 12 12 11:59 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I saw both LEAGUE and VAN HELSING in the theaters. Both times were excruciating. I wouldn't want to bet between those two movies. About Beckinsale and VAN HELSING: Stephen Sommers has a tendency to work with amazingly beautiful actresses(Beckinsale, Famke Jensen, Rachel Weiz, Kelly Hu) and drain all the sex appeal from them! He's one of the worst.
