Ha, okay, look -- if you want to define "superhero" as a hero that has superpowers, then yes, Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter qualify. Highlander too, I guess (if immortality counts as a superpower). suggestions.

Well he's wrong.1992 was won by a G-rated film. 4 of the top-10 were R-rated.-----------------------------------------------Mesce noted that of the top 20 grossers domestically, 70% had R-ratings. This included Last of the Mohicans (possibly the first R-rated Hawkeye/Natty Bumppo film), Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Bodyguard, etc. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=1992&p=.htm2012 is currently being won by a PG-13 film, and 2 of the top-10 are R-rated.Interesting to see how long that lasts.

Personally, I'm not "into" it enough to get that carried away. But, for me, "superhero" and "comic book" go hand-in-hand. They don't have to wear uniforms or costumes (The Hulk, for example), but I think a real superhero has to be from the comics, or in the fashion of a comic book character. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they would fall into the "I don't know how to define it, but I know when I see it" category. To my mind, calling Godzilla a superhero borders on lunacy.
NATURALISTIC! UNCANNY! MARVELOUS!
