Apr 27 12 8:01 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Three volumes of Alex Raymond's "The Complete Flash Gordon Library" are due out later this year from Titan: FLASH GORDON ON THE PLANET MONGO (June 12) FLASH GORDON: THE TYRANT OF MONGO (Sept 25) FLASH GORDON: THE FALL OF MING (Sept 25) Has anyone here heard any details about these? I'm curious as to how they will compare with those seven volumes put out by Checker a few years back.

May 15 12 12:34 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	First I've heard of it, Bob. Just did a quick Google search, found a little blurb about it at Comic Book Resources -- sounds potentially promising. All depends on this "restoration" they're talking about. The complete Raymond run has been collected several times in the past, to varying degrees of success. Kitchen Sink and Checker both scanned the art from Sunday newspaper strips -- most pages looked pretty good, but on some pages the black line plates looked muddy, and the colors were intermittently washed out or too garish. I wasn't 100 % satisfied with the volumes from either publisher, so I never bothered to complete the set -- I've got one Checker and I think two of the Kitchen Sinks. Guess I was hoping someone would eventually do a "definitive" version -- fingers crossed! Curious to see what repro method Titan is planning to use. Their recent Simon and Kirby collections are also scanned off old comics and they do a pretty nice job of it. I'll definitely check out the first volume when it comes out. Thanks for the heads-up!

I remember our high school library getting at least one, maybe two, hardcover Alex Raymond collections my junior year (in the wake of 1977's STAR WARS, after Lucas mentioned Flash Gordon serving as initial inspiration for his blockbuster space opera).
