May 5 12 6:07 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I thought I was the only one that thought VAMPIRE CIRCUS was too dark . Just before the end credits roll you can`t even make out the bat flying away. Although the funny thing is when they show the same clip in the making of, you can see it quite clearly. Very strange!

On my 50" Panasonic plasma TV, it just looks like typical 1960s technicolor. No greenish tint. (And I'm fussy about picture quality / fidelity - my TV set is properly calibrated, so I tend to be reasonably sensitive to what I deem 'imperfections'). Tint isn't the right term. The effect isn't tinting so much as color timing. And yeah, my monitor is properly calibrated as well. Also, I agree VAMPIRE CIRCUS was much, MUCH too dark. I'm hoping THE REPTILE and PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES are closer in appearance to QUATERMASS AND THE PIT, a real thing of beauty. Stuart Galbraith IV's CINEBLOGARAMA

May 14 12 11:56 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I like the movie a lot, but the one problems I have always had with it was Dracula's Castle. I really liked the interior of the castle in HORROR OF DRACULA, but in DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS the castle is to clean and fancy. There are a lot of paintings on the wall and I have to ask, would a vampire need such a fancy place.Klove must be a hell of a house keeper. The reason I bring this up is the new transfer of the movie has the color pumped up so high it really draws attention to the over done interior. It is nice to see such rich colors, but it makes castle Dracula look like a five star hotel and kind of takes away a little of the uneasiness I felt when I first saw the film at a movie theatre. Also it is very bright, all the night scenes look like the middle of a very bright day, and when Dracula takes his walk after the couple has gotten away, it looks way to bright. It's Roman Polanski who really understood what vampires castle should look like inside even if his film was a comedy.

May 15 12 2:53 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I love the interior of HORROR OF DRACULA, BRIDES castle is not supposed to be that run down, the curse is not centuries old like Dracula's', so I think it is appropriate that the castle still be in pretty good shape. As for the FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS(which I just watched a couple days ago) the Hunchback was just not as good of a house keeper as Klove. Excuse me......You want me to do what with my what now?

And no one ever vandalizes the place or steals any of the furniture. Pretty silly, but part of the charm and naivete of our favourite films...
