May 14 12 11:36 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I got mine - great stuff, particularly the cover story (which lives up to the magnificent cover) and the faux missing film segment Claws of the Werewolf (whose art style reminded me a little bit of underground cartoonist Spain Rodriguez). I liked the cosmic horror story, but the idea to shave the entire comic in grey to blue tones worked against the story... it maybe should have started out that way, but as things got more cosmic more color could have been added... or the reverse, if you wanted to show the effect on reality the cosmic forces were having. The new Vornoff and Lobo segment was hilarious again! Keep 'em coming!

These comics have been alot of fun so far, I will admit that I was slightly disappointed in the second issue ( I'm sure due to the year waiting for it in a fervor of anticipation). I am definitely looking forward to what the future brings. Monster fans everywhere should be supporting and appreciating the wonderful job that the Monsterverse has done in carrying the torch of classic horror.

I think that either this board doesn't really like comics very much (which I doubt) OR that this comics board is suffering from a structural problem (which I think is more likely). An individual board gets people interested by what the top thread is displayed on the main board. The Horror Comics and Fantasy Art section has two uber-popular threads, The CHFB Member Art Gallery and the Classic Monster Art Challenge. People post in those so often, I think that it buries any other thread that exists on the board unless you specifically go into the Horror Comics and Fantasy Art folder. To the average CHFB member looking for something new, if it looks like just the two big art threads are always displaying, it doesn't really seem like anything new is going on. I really think that Horror Comics should have it's own section, and the art threads should be moved to another section called Horror and Fantasy Art. If that was done, the horror comics would get more discussion and the great stuff that Monsterverse is putting out, and all the other cool indy stuff like the various comics people have tried to get support for that failed recently, will do much better. I want to see Bela's Tales got to issue 100 in my lifetime, for Flesh & Blood to get a ton of kudos, but we need to help by getting interest in the threads here. As for issue 1 and issue 2's quality, for me they were of equal quality... and I didn't mention it before, but Mike Hoffman's back cover was outta site!

May 16 12 6:53 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Bela Lugosi Issue #2 maintains the quality writing and artwork which made the original a hit. I reserved two copies. One to enjoy and the other to put away in my comic crypt. I wonder if we will have to wait another two years for Issue #3 and if Flesh & Blood Book #2 will be released on schedule. Both are marvelous an well worth the money. Can't get enough of anything Bela related.

It was a fun tale to write and a story that I felt bridged classic horror films with horror comics in a nice creepy way. I especially enjoyed James Groman's art which gave it a cool retro-look but with a modern feel. James did some designs for the upcoming THE HOBBIT movie (and go check his blog with the fantastic sculptures that he creates!).
